C-Hub: Guidelines of Use and Privacy Policy

Cedars Christian College provides C-Hub to support the learning, teaching and operational needs of the College and for communication between members of the College Community. The use of C-Hub by staff and students is governed by the College Technology policy, which is deemed to be accepted at login time. These guidelines apply to anyone that has access to C-Hub. 

Regardless of your relationship with Cedars Christian College, C-Hub must only be used to support the learning, teaching and operational activities of the College. Care should be taken when adding information to C-Hub as inappropriate use may result in the loss of access to C-Hub for the person or people responsible. In the event that the inappropriate use is illegal the matter will be referred to Police. 

The activities that are expressly forbidden are:

  • Operating a business (including trading and operation of internet auction sites)

  • Gambling or carrying out activities that are illegal, offensive, defamatory, racist, discriminatory or against Cedars Christian College policy & Christian values

  • Accessing, downloading, storing, printing or distributing material that is illegal, pornographic, offensive, racist, defamatory or infringes copyright

  • Installing software without first seeking approval

  • Using the personal information of others in inappropriate ways e.g. for spam email or marketing of any kind

  • Using C-Hub without authenticating as an authorised account holder in the Cedars Christian College network.

Staff, students and parents are issued with unique account credentials for C-Hub, these are used to determine which information is accessible to the account holder. The use of someone else's account to access C-Hub is strictly forbidden. Any information that you add to C-Hub is potentially available to other C-Hub users unless you take steps to deliberately restrict access. For this reason it is best to assume that whatever you add is visible to all C-Hub users. Cedars Christian College continuously monitors the use of C-Hub to ensure that use complies with the above guidelines. Any information that you contribute to C-Hub is identifiable to you along with the date and time of the contribution. Individual C-Hub pages may be inspected for compliance with the above guidelines at any time. 

Copyright and Intellectual Property 

Copyright and Intellectual Property guidelines apply to 2 key functions C-Hub:

  • Content published by staff and students

  • Information, data, resources, graphics, references etc. from another source

All content must meet Copyright license agreements and use the recognised standards of acknowledgement and recognition. Content must meet Copyright and Intellectual Property guidelines when content is reproduced from another source.
